Ridley first appears when he travels with Stormella and her wolves to Santa's workshop to find out which of his elves destroyed Stormella's Ice Garden. After Stormella closes off her bridge to the public after Santa refuses to hand over Boone and Doggle (the elves responsible for the damage), Ridley drives her wolf-pulled sleigh back to Ice Castle.
Years later, Ridley occupies his boss when she captures Zoey after the reindeer crosses her bridge. After Stormella imprisons Rudolph and Leonard, Ridley plays the piano for I Hate Santa Claus. After being freed by Slyly, Rudolph, Zoey and Leonard gets outside Ice Castle but are confronted by Stormella, Ridley and the wolves and when Stormella tries to harm Zoey, Rudolph's nose lights up and causes her to fall down the cliff.
Ridley along with Zoey, Slyly, Leonard and the wolves help Rudolph pull Stormella up the cliff to safety. After Stormella grants Rudolph's wish to become nice, she picks up Ridley and starts kissing him, this annoys Ridley who asks for someone to change her back to her old self.
The next day on Christmas Day, Ridley shows Stormella that Santa has given her an ice statue of herself to make up for the ones that Boone and Doggle accidentally destroyed. He along with Stormella and the other villagers later sing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" as they welcome Rudolph, Santa and the Flyers back from their Christmas Eve deliveries.
- The screenwriter named Ridley after Ridley Scott, one of his favorite directors.
- As with Leonard and Slyly, Ridley was also partly inspired by an afternoon the screenwriter spent at Central Park Zoo observing penguins, a polar bear named Gus, and an arctic fox.
- Ridley was originally going to have a striped blue and white butler suit.
